Description:

We are seeking an experienced IT Senior Project Manager to lead an Enterprise Data Warehouse modernization initiative for a large public-sector technology program. This role involves close collaboration with IT data teams, business stakeholders, and implementation partners to replace a legacy SQL Server–based data warehouse with a modern platform built on Informatica and Snowflake.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills, capable of driving large-scale data and technology projects through all phases — from planning to implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate project activities to ensure alignment with the project plan, goals, and schedules for multiple related workstreams.

  • Identify and communicate risks, dependencies, and schedule impacts to leadership.

  • Provide regular project status updates, timelines, and risk reports to management and stakeholders.

  • Develop detailed project plans, budgets, and checklists to align with funding and staffing availability.

  • Collaborate with business leaders to establish and maintain release schedules.

  • Gather requirements through JAD sessions, interviews, process analysis, and workflow reviews.

  • Develop and manage plans for quality control, risk management, change management, and testing.

  • Ensure adherence to established project management standards and governance methodologies.

  • Coordinate with development teams, business analysts, and subject matter experts to ensure successful delivery.

  • Prepare and maintain system documentation and secure required approvals.

  • Lead meetings, presentations, and stakeholder communications.

  • Produce weekly status reports and escalate issues or risks as needed.

  • Maintain effective working relationships across technical and business teams.

  • Support testing and production environments, ensuring timely issue resolution.

  • Stay informed of industry trends and best practices, sharing insights with project teams.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor on assigned initiatives.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Minimum 3 years of IT project management experience, managing complex, cross-functional projects.

  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile, and Project Management methodologies.

  • Proven ability to draft functional specifications and lead requirement sessions.

  • Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook.

  • Hands-on experience with Jira and Agile project tools.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong leadership and organizational abilities with attention to detail.

  • Experience in change management, risk assessment, and process improvement.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

  • Experience preparing detailed documentation such as requirements, test plans, and user guides.

Education & Certification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
