Job Title: Payroll Assistant

Duration: 8 weeks

Shift Hours: 8:00 AM-4:00 PM 

Location: New York 10004

Pay Rate: $30/hr on W2

Note: Workers are to report onsite at Kings County (Brooklyn or Woodhull) 

Job Summary:

• The Payroll Assistant is responsible for processing payroll for hourly and salaried employees, ensuring accuracy in wage calculations, deductions, and compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
• This role involves handling wage garnishments, conducting audits for data integrity, and providing accounting-related support to the leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
• Enter and process wage garnishments and related payments.
• Prepare property payroll transfer reports.
• Ensure benefits deductions are accurate and up to date.
• Conduct regular audits to maintain payroll accuracy and data integrity.
• Support leadership with various accounting and payroll-related projects.
• Handle payroll activities including garnishments, taxes, year-end processing, and retroactive pay calculations.
• Work with multiple payroll systems, including PeopleSoft Payroll.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of payroll experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with QuickBooks, Pay Choice, or Payroll Associates preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
