Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse – Telemetry
Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Duration: 13 Weeks (Extendable)
Shift: Day Shift | 3x12 Hours (07:00 AM – 07:30 PM)
Pay Rate: $2,098 Weekly Gross
We are seeking an experienced Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional patient care in a dynamic, high-acuity environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms accurately. This position is perfect for a dedicated RN seeking to expand their experience in telemetry and acute care settings while working in a collaborative and supportive healthcare environment.
Deliver direct and continuous nursing care to telemetry patients with cardiac or medical conditions requiring close monitoring.
Accurately interpret and document cardiac rhythms and vital signs.
Initiate and maintain IV lines, administer medications, and perform phlebotomy as needed.
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Monitor and respond promptly to changes in patient condition, utilizing advanced clinical judgment and intervention skills.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the EMR system.
Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and safety procedures.
Participate in unit meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required:
Active and unrestricted New York State RN License.
Minimum 1.5 years of recent acute care experience (within the last 2 years) in a facility of comparable size or trauma level.
Proficient in IV initiation and phlebotomy skills.
Current AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) and AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
Preferred:
Experience working in Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Centers.
Proficiency with EPIC EMR systems.
Fast-paced Telemetry Unit within an acute care hospital.
Frequent patient interaction and continuous cardiac monitoring.
Requires attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to multitask under pressure.
Exposure to medical equipment and bodily fluids; PPE provided for all safety protocols.
