Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse – Telemetry

Location: Syracuse, NY 13210

Duration: 13 Weeks (Extendable)

Shift: Day Shift | 3x12 Hours (07:00 AM – 07:30 PM)

Pay Rate: $2,098 Weekly Gross

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional patient care in a dynamic, high-acuity environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms accurately. This position is perfect for a dedicated RN seeking to expand their experience in telemetry and acute care settings while working in a collaborative and supportive healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and continuous nursing care to telemetry patients with cardiac or medical conditions requiring close monitoring.

  • Accurately interpret and document cardiac rhythms and vital signs.

  • Initiate and maintain IV lines, administer medications, and perform phlebotomy as needed.

  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.

  • Monitor and respond promptly to changes in patient condition, utilizing advanced clinical judgment and intervention skills.

  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the EMR system.

  • Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and discharge instructions.

  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and safety procedures.

  • Participate in unit meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Active and unrestricted New York State RN License.

  • Minimum 1.5 years of recent acute care experience (within the last 2 years) in a facility of comparable size or trauma level.

  • Proficient in IV initiation and phlebotomy skills.

  • Current AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) and AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Centers.

  • Proficiency with EPIC EMR systems.

Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced Telemetry Unit within an acute care hospital.

  • Frequent patient interaction and continuous cardiac monitoring.

  • Requires attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to multitask under pressure.

  • Exposure to medical equipment and bodily fluids; PPE provided for all safety protocols.
