Job Title: Travel RN – Med/Surg Telemetry

Location: Rochester, NY

Duration: 13 weeks (extendable)

Shift: Nights | 12-hour shifts, 3 nights per week

Pay Rate: $2,383 weekly gross

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (Med/Surg Telemetry) for a travel assignment in Rochester, NY. The ideal candidate will provide skilled patient care in a high-acuity medical-surgical and telemetry unit, managing complex patient needs and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias.

• Administer IV insulin, titrate insulin drips, and follow insulin protocols.

• Provide care for feeding tubes, continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), and post/pre-hemodialysis management.

• Administer blood products and manage central, peripheral, and PICC lines.

• Start IVs and follow heparin protocols.

• Manage cardiac drips (without titration), PCA, and substance withdrawal protocols.

• Care for patients with surgical drains, chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur Evac), ventilators, CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC, oxygen masks, and tracheostomies.

• Apply isolation precautions and provide wound care, including Wound Vac management.

• Collaborate with the healthcare team to monitor, assess, and document patient care.

• Utilize EMR systems for charting; EPIC experience preferred, required for first-time US travelers.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required.

• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient management skills.

• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment.

Certifications & Licensure:

• AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required

• Active NY State RN License – Required
