Job Title: Internet Architect I

Duration: 3 Months

Location: Remote

Position Description

We are seeking an experienced Internet Architect I to update and enhance an existing organizational website to meet modern brand standards, accessibility requirements, and digital best practices. The ideal candidate will have strong web design and technical development skills, along with a keen understanding of accessibility and content optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Redesign and update the organization’s website to align with brand and accessibility standards.

  • Improve overall user experience (UX) by simplifying navigation and enhancing content accessibility.

  • Optimize site functionality related to email marketing and event management.

    • Restructure and label email contact lists for better performance.

    • Enhance contact database fields and create performance dashboards for email campaigns.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the site meets WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility guidelines.

  • Conduct performance testing, troubleshoot issues, and ensure seamless functionality.

  • Manage project progress, set deliverable gateposts, and maintain consistent communication with the team lead.

  • Assist with newsletter sign-up form improvements, contact segmentation (under 500 contacts), and cleanup of site user data.

Expected Outcome: At the completion of the engagement, the organization will have a newly designed, functional, and fully accessible website.

Skills Required

  • Strong knowledge of Wix website design and functionality.

  • Understanding of WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.

  • Proficiency in web design and basic web development.

  • Familiarity with programming languages such as VB Script, HTML, Java, and JavaScript.

  • Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Internet products, ASP, web browsers, and graphic tools.

  • Understanding of TCP/IP and network routing protocols.

  • Ability to develop innovative solutions for web development challenges.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.

Skills Preferred

  • Experience implementing fully accessible website page designs.

  • Strong background in wireframe creation, design implementation, and CMS adaptability.

  • Ability to test, troubleshoot, and optimize functionality within Wix.

Client Will Provide

  • Site map with hierarchy.

  • Page layout designs and brand guidelines.

  • Page content (copy and images).

  • Client-issued laptop with collaboration tools.

  • Client email access and a unique Wix account for development.

Education Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
