Job Title: Mechanical Engineer – Installed Base (IB)
Location: Waukesha, WI
Duration: 11-Month Contract
Pay Rate: $35/hr (W2)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Installed Base (IB) engineering team supporting advanced medical imaging systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for investigating field, factory, and supplier issues, driving design improvements, and ensuring product reliability and compliance. This role provides a great opportunity to work on a diverse range of engineering challenges within a high-impact environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Investigate and resolve field, factory, and supplier issues, including part failures, component-level problems, obsolescence, and cost-reduction opportunities.
• Evaluate and process Supplier Change Requests (SCRs) promptly to prevent supplier or manufacturing disruptions.
• Prepare and present Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) in accordance with company standards and procedures.
• Lead efforts in prototype development, performance validation, and design documentation.
• Support design and operational excellence through feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, prioritization, and project execution.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with global material regulations and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives.

Tools & Technologies:

• Proficiency in mechanical design software such as Creo and Windchill.
• Familiarity with Ansys and MyWorkshop for simulation and testing.
• Solid understanding of drafting practices, mechanical modeling, and engineering analysis techniques.
• Working knowledge of mechanical fabrication methods.
• Basic understanding of electrical design constraints related to electronics packaging.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
• Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience in mechanical design, analysis, or manufacturing support.
