Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Pediatric Emergency Department (ED) team. The ideal candidate will be ready to provide exceptional care to pediatric patients in urgent and high-pressure situations. This role requires quick clinical judgment, effective prioritization, and the ability to manage both physical and mental health emergencies. Our Pediatric ED RNs are trained to respond rapidly to various trauma cases and deliver specialized, family-centered care.
Provide high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients in the emergency department.
Quickly and accurately assess incoming patients to determine the nature and severity of their conditions.
Prioritize and coordinate care based on patient acuity and needs.
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
Document all aspects of patient care in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
Minimum 18 months of nursing experience in a pediatric emergency department.
Recent ED experience within the past 6 months.
Strong clinical judgment and analytical abilities to develop effective care plans.
Ability to perform a wide range of professional nursing duties.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Required: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Required:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Jersey or multi-state compact license
Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – American Heart Association
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
CEU Contact Stroke (4 Hours)
Telemetry Certification
Preferred:
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – American Heart Association
Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
Hours per week: 36
Shift: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Schedule: 3 shifts per week, every other weekend and holidays required
On-call: None
Float Requirements: Within facility to like units (Pediatric ED, PICU, NICU, Triage, Telemetry)
