Location: Edison, NJ 08818
Shift: 12 Hours/Day | 3 Days/Week | 36 Hours/Week
Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Every Other Weekend & Holidays Required
The Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU Float provides critical care nursing to patients in the ICU, with responsibilities extending to Neuro ICU, Telemetry, and Stepdown units. This role requires strong assessment and critical thinking skills, the ability to manage high-acuity patients, and flexibility to float between units as needed.
Provide direct patient care in ICU, Neuro ICU, Telemetry, and Stepdown units.
Monitor and assess critically ill patients, including hemodynamic status, ventilator settings, and neurological assessments.
Administer medications, IV infusions, and other prescribed treatments.
Collaborate with physicians, healthcare team members, and interdisciplinary staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR systems.
Respond promptly to patient emergencies and changes in condition.
Educate patients and families regarding care plans and interventions.
Adhere to hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control guidelines.
Minimum 2+ years of ICU/CCU experience.
Neuro ICU experience required.
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
Ability to float to Telemetry and Stepdown units (max 4 Tele patients).
Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (NJ).
Current BLS certification (AHA) required; ACLS preferred.
