Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:15 PM
Schedule: 37.5 hours/week, 5 days/week (some weekends required)
Pay Rate: $26/hour
Certifications: PCA/PCT, CPI, BLS/CPR, COVID-19 vaccination
Job Summary:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking Patient Care Associate (PCA) – Psychiatry for an exciting job in New York, NY.
Responsibilities:
Assist with patient admissions, orientation, and room familiarization.
Support patients with personal care, including feeding, bathing, dressing, and hygiene.
Take vital signs and perform basic health measurements (height, weight, etc.).
Collect specimens (urine, blood, sputum) and administer EKGs.
Participate in care planning and therapeutic interventions.
Lead or co-lead recreational and therapeutic activity groups.
Assist with discharge planning and patient transportation for medically ordered activities.
Respond to aggressive or violent behaviors and assist with patient restraints per policy.
Initiate CPR and support nursing staff during emergency events.
Maintain infection control practices and provide ongoing supportive counseling.
Qualifications & Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent, plus 2 years’ experience in law enforcement, nursing, psychiatric/behavioral health, mental health, counseling, or group/family dynamics OR an Associate’s degree in a related field.
CPI or PMCS certification.
BLS (American Heart Association) certification.
Venipuncture and EKG skills.
Successful SEL and SCR background checks.
Certificate in Medical Assistant training preferred.
