Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU Step-Down CWR
Location: Neptune, NJ
Duration: 13 Weeks (with possibility of extension)
Hours Per Week: 36
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 3x12 hr shifts | Every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday) | No holiday or on-call requirement
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. The RN provides safe, effective, and evidence-based care for patients on the Cardiac Vascular & Post-Surgical Step-Down Unit.
Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patient’s needs.
Identify patient needs and determine priorities through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized care plans through initial and ongoing assessments.
Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage patient care.
Initiate assessments based on patient condition, medical diagnosis, and functional health framework.
Document care based on standards of practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
Advocate for evidence-based practice and adoption of innovations in care delivery.
Provide patient-centric care aligned with the professional nursing practice model.
Float to step-down and medical-surgical units within competency as required.
Deliver care on a step-down unit (not OR).
Minimum 2 years prior RN experience in a Med/Surg/Tele unit within a major acute care hospital.
Strong Med/Surg/Tele background.
Proficiency in:
Telemetry monitoring
IV insertion and management
Central line care
Medication administration
EMR documentation (Epic or similar)
Basic tracheostomy care and stable ventilator management
Ventilator management experience.
Post-cardiac surgery experience.
Post-surgical recovery care.
Required: ASN
Preferred: BSN

ACLS (AHA)
NIHSS
BLS (AHA)
CEU Contact Stroke – 4 Hours
Telemetry certification
Active NJ State RN license or multi-state compact license
