Job Title: Senior General Ledger Clerk
Location: 1612 Sisk Road, Modesto, CA 95350
Duration: 6+ months (possible extension)
Pay Rate: $31/hr
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior General Ledger Clerk to support accounting operations by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and maintaining records for multiple programs. The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running and become an immediate asset to the Finance team.
Key Responsibilities
Process, balance, and close computerized general ledger accounts for multiple programs.
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations, including bank statements.
Maintain accurate records for programs such as CGP, CDBG, and F.S.S.
Assist in preparing financial reports for HUD and other stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with established financial policies and procedures.
Perform other related accounting duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities
Strong understanding of general ledger, journal entries, and reconciliations.
Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Office tools.
Ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations, including rate, ratio, and percentage.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Typing speed of at least 35 wpm.
Strong problem-solving and reasoning abilities.
Education & Experience
Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college/technical school.
Minimum 2 years of accounting or finance experience (4+ years preferred without a degree).
Physical Demands
Regularly required to sit, talk, and hear; frequently use hands to handle or feel.
Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, climb, kneel, or crawl.
Must be able to lift/move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
