Position: RN – Obstetrics / Labor & Delivery 

Location: Cooperstown, NY 13326 
Type: 13-Week Contract (Travel or Local) 
Shift: Day | 5x8s, Monday–Friday 

About the Role 
The Obstetrics RN will provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns in the Labor & Delivery unit. This position requires strong critical thinking, patient education, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, positive childbirth outcomes. 

Responsibilities 

• Assess and monitor maternal and fetal health during labor and delivery 

• Provide patient-centered support with pain management and labor techniques 

• Collaborate with the OB care team during deliveries, including emergency cases 

• Educate patients and families on postpartum care and newborn care practices 

• Ensure accurate and timely electronic documentation 

• Participate in professional growth and unit-based training opportunities 

Requirements 

• Active RN license in New York State 

• 1+ year of recent L&D experience preferred 

• Current BLS & ACLS; NRP certification desirable 

• Strong communication and patient education skills 

• Commitment to safe, compassionate, and evidence-based practice
