Location: Boston, MA 02108 (Hybrid)

Position Summary

We are seeking a Digital Communications Specialist to support a large-scale enterprise transformation program. This role is part of the Organizational Change Management (OCM) workstream and will collaborate closely with program leadership to plan, create, and deliver communications that inform, engage, and prepare stakeholders for significant business process and technology changes.

The Specialist will be responsible for developing accessible, engaging content across digital and traditional platforms, including websites, newsletters, email campaigns, presentations, and virtual/hybrid events. A key responsibility is ensuring all communications meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards and align with program milestones, training activities, and go-live preparations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop engaging, accessible content for digital and print channels, including websites, newsletters, targeted emails, presentations, and reports.

  • Collaborate with OCM, communications leadership, solution teams, and vendors to execute the communications strategy and plan.

  • Maintain and manage the content calendar and track deliverables to align with program timelines.

  • Ensure all stakeholder communications meet accessibility requirements and clearly convey program objectives, business process changes, and benefits.

  • Draft, design, and distribute materials such as newsletters, PowerPoint presentations, and meeting collateral.

  • Support program events and meetings (virtual, hybrid, and in-person) through content preparation, facilitation, minutes, and reporting.

  • Collect and analyze data, surveys, and metrics to evaluate communication effectiveness and produce summary reports.

  • Provide timely updates, manage tasks, and track risks/issues related to communications activities.

  • Adapt to evolving program needs and support related activities as required.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), Zoom, and digital publishing tools.

  • Experience with SharePoint, Mailchimp (or similar), WordPress (or similar), Microsoft Forms, and SurveyMonkey (or similar).

  • Hands-on experience creating and managing content for public-facing websites.

  • Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts.

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills; able to influence and engage stakeholders.

  • Strategic thinker with problem-solving ability and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar tools.

  • Knowledge of communication/change management best practices within large organizations.

  • Familiarity with public sector IT solutions or large-scale enterprise programs.

  • Experience with media relations, SEO/SEM, multimedia production, or analytics tools.

  • Understanding of web accessibility standards and modern, responsive design.

  • Basic graphic design, video editing, or photography skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Multi-Media Production, Change Management, or a related field.

Minimum Requirements

  • 3–4 years of experience in communications, multimedia production, change management, or a related field.

  • 2–3 years of experience managing communications initiatives in large or distributed organizations preferred.
