Contract Duration: 44 Weeks
Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:15 AM – 2:45 PM
Rate: $45.00/hour

Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and student-focused Elementary School Counselor to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of students in grades K–5. The School Counselor will collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to guiding young learners, addressing individual needs, and fostering positive behavior and mental well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students on academic, personal, and social issues

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate guidance lessons to support student growth

  • Assist students in developing problem-solving, conflict resolution, and coping skills

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to identify student needs and provide appropriate interventions

  • Support students facing behavioral challenges, academic struggles, or personal difficulties

  • Create a safe and welcoming environment that encourages self-expression and learning

  • Participate in student support teams, IEP meetings, and other school-based interventions as needed

  • Refer students and families to external support services when necessary

  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with district and state policies

  • Promote positive school climate by implementing programs that encourage inclusivity, respect, and kindness

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in School Counseling or related field

  • Valid state certification/licensure as a School Counselor

  • Experience working with elementary-age students preferred

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with educators, families, and community resources
