Title: Pediatric Emergency Department Registered Nurse
Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (includes every other weekend and some holidays)
We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses for a Pediatric Emergency Department. Candidates must have the majority of their experience in a dedicated Pediatric ED. Adult ED experience is considered a plus, but applicants with only combined Adult/Pediatric ED experience will not be considered.
This role requires strong triage skills and formal triage training. Level 1 or 2 trauma center experience is highly valued, as well as familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records.
Current New York State RN license and registration
Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) with ability to maintain certification
Minimum of 2 years of recent experience (within the past 2 years) in an acute care facility of comparable size and level
Pediatric Emergency Care experience (minimum 2 years)
Pediatric triage training required (minimum 1 year)
EPIC EMR experience preferred
Level 1 or 2 trauma center experience highly desired
TNCC or TCRN certification required
Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Successful completion of pre-employment health clearance, drug screening, and criminal background check
Perform the majority of patient care skills independently in a Pediatric ED setting
Provide strong and accurate nursing assessments in an acute care environment
Demonstrate competency in triage and pediatric emergency care
Work effectively with minimal orientation and supervision
At least 2 years of nursing experience (required)
Pediatric triage training – minimum 1 year (required)
Pediatric Emergency Care experience – minimum 2 years (required)
NYS RN license (required)
TNCC or TCRN certification (required)
Level 1 trauma hospital experience (highly desired)
EPIC EMR experience (highly desired)
