Duration: 12 Weeks
Schedule: Nights, 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m., 36 hours/week, every other weekend, rotating holidays
Travel Rate: $2,686/week

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Med/Surg-Telemetry unit. This role provides comprehensive care for patients requiring both general medical/surgical services and continuous cardiac monitoring. The RN will play a vital role in patient assessment, telemetry data interpretation, medication administration, education, and interdisciplinary collaboration in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, effective patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).

  • Administer medications and monitor patient responses, with an emphasis on telemetry and medical/surgical needs.

  • Perform physical, psychological, and social assessments; accurately document and communicate findings.

  • Utilize and interpret telemetry monitoring technology with proficiency.

  • Serve as charge nurse when assigned, supporting staff and ensuring quality patient care.

  • Adhere to safety, infection control, and hospital protocols, including blood/body fluid precautions.

  • Participate in professional development, ongoing education, and nursing committees.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in patient care planning and discharge coordination.

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold professional standards of practice.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred

  • Active RN license in the state of Massachusetts (or ability to obtain prior to start)

  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications

  • Successful completion of facility-specific pharmacology and basic arrhythmia exams (prior to start date)

  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Med/Surg experience; experience with cardiac patients strongly preferred

  • Strong communication skills, with proficiency in English (reading, writing, verbal)

  • Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and nursing informatics
