Job Title: Ultrasound Tech
Location: North Bergen, NJ 07047
Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with weekends as needed
Duration: 3+ Months Contract

Compensation: Up to $63/hr (Travel) | Up to $56/hr (Local)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a solid understanding of sonographic procedures, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures according to department protocols within allotted timeframes.

  • Conduct portable ultrasound exams as needed.

  • Assist physicians with procedures such as biopsies, deep abdominal studies, and color-flow ultrasound.

  • Prepare patients for exams by explaining procedures, positioning appropriately, and ensuring comfort.

  • Evaluate technical quality of images and process studies in accordance with protocols.

  • Maintain accurate patient records, including data archiving and charting.

  • Ensure all equipment is calibrated, cleaned, and maintained for optimal performance.

  • Perform clerical duties such as patient scheduling and documentation using EPIC, Tele Tracking, and other medical systems.

  • Adhere to safety, infection control, and emergency procedures.

  • Provide guidance and technical instruction to students, new staff, and residents when necessary.

  • Participate in on-call rotations, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required to ensure patient care coverage.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years clinical ultrasound experience.

  • Proficiency in performing and interpreting ultrasound exams across multiple specialties.

  • CPR certification required.

  • Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology.

  • Familiarity with ultrasound equipment functionality and troubleshooting.

  • Understanding of patient safety standards, infection control, and emergency protocols.

  • Ability to lift at least 25 lbs., push/pull up to 50 lbs., and stand for extended periods (minimum 6 hours).

  • Commitment to maintaining CEU credits.

Certifications (Required Prior to Start)

  • RDMS – Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
