Job Title: CT Scan Technologist (Contract – 13 Weeks)

Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Overnight)
The CT Scan Technologist performs computer tomography procedures and related imaging techniques to produce sectional and three-dimensional diagnostic images. This role also supports interventional and therapeutic procedures as needed.
Perform complex CT procedures following established protocols.
Review patient clinical history and ensure documentation is complete and scanned into PACS.
Prepare, screen, and review contrast questionnaires with patients/families and scan into EPIC.
Administer or assist with contrast media as prescribed by licensed practitioners.
Verify exam prescriptions, consult with Radiologists or Referring Physicians when clarification is needed.
Ensure insurance verification and coordinate with Finance for re-authorization when required.
Obtain and schedule outside studies in EPIC, ensuring images and reports are available for Radiologists.
Provide patients and referring providers with exam copies when appropriate.
Evaluate radiographs in PACS to confirm identification and diagnostic quality.
Gather relevant clinical information and prepare appropriate scan protocols.
Confirm patient readiness, prep patients (shielding, immobilization devices), and determine appropriate contrast type/dose.
Provide clear instructions and address patient/family questions regarding procedures.
Perform venipuncture and IV maintenance per guidelines.
Monitor patient condition for adverse reactions during exams.
Participate in scheduled shifts, including holidays, weekends, on-call, and overtime as needed.
Follow hospital policies regarding ID, attendance, behavior, and punctuality.
Adhere to patient care standards, ensuring sensitivity to age, culture, language, and special needs.
Lift/push/pull within job requirements (minimum 25–50 lbs.).
Maintain compliance with organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and radiologic positioning.
Understanding of CT software/hardware functionality.
Proficiency with PACS systems.
CEU credits maintained.
ARRT (CT) certification within 12 months of hire.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Six months CT experience preferred.
Experience with Epic and hospital HIS/RIS systems.
Required:
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License.
ARRT Certified R.T.(R).
American Heart Association BLS Certification.
Preferred:
ARRT Certified R.T.(CT).
