Position: Director of Nursing (DON) – Long-Term Care
Location: Flagstaff, AZ
Schedule: Flexible (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM) with overtime as needed
Type: Contract
Pay Rate: $68/Hour
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing (DON) to lead nursing operations at a long-term care facility in Flagstaff, AZ. The DON will serve as the senior nursing leader, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and effective management of nursing staff. This role requires a collaborative leader who fosters professional growth, drives performance improvement, and maintains a positive environment for both staff and residents.
Develop, implement, and maintain nursing policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure safe, high-quality care
Manage daily nursing operations, including staffing, scheduling, and training
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory standards
Collaborate with facility leadership and interdisciplinary teams on resident care plans and facility needs
Oversee quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff to promote professional development and retention
Manage the nursing budget and allocate resources effectively
Act as a liaison during inspections, audits, and administrative meetings
Active and valid RN license in the State of Arizona
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred
Minimum 3 years of direct patient care experience and at least 1 year in a supervisory role
Prior long-term care nursing experience is required
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
