Job Title: Behavior Assistant – Special Education (SPED)
Location: Sterling, VA 20164
Job Type: 45 Weeks (extendable)
Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 2:45 PM
Pay Rate: $27/hour
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 1 year of related experience
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or advanced behavior training required
This role will support a K–2 Autism program, with primary focus on working one-on-one with an assigned student.
Provide direct support to students in the K–2 Autism program, with focus on an assigned student.
Implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) under the supervision of a Behavior Analyst or Special Education Teacher.
Assist students with classroom activities, daily routines, and transitions to increase engagement and independence.
Support the development of social, communication, and adaptive skills per Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Collect and maintain accurate data on student behaviors and progress toward IEP and BIP goals.
Use positive reinforcement strategies and de-escalation techniques as directed by the behavior team.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff to foster a safe and inclusive environment.
Ensure student safety and well-being throughout the school day.
Communicate regularly with supervising staff regarding student progress and needs.
