Job Title: RN – Med/Surg (Telemetry)

Location: Syracuse, NY 13210

Type: Contract - 3x12 - Days

Job Summary: We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses for adult Medical/Surgical units with telemetry monitoring. This is a day shift travel assignment. Candidates should have strong acute care experience, preferably in trauma centers, and be proficient with EPIC electronic medical records. Nurses must be able to start IVs, draw labs, and monitor telemetry. Schedules include every other weekend and some holidays; set schedules and excessive time off requests cannot be accommodated.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe, quality patient care in an acute med/surg setting with telemetry.

  • Perform IV insertions, blood draws, and monitor telemetry.

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and provide nursing interventions with minimal supervision.

  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to support patient care goals.

  • Document care and assessments accurately in the EMR (EPIC preferred).

  • Adhere to all hospital policies, regulatory standards, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Current New York State RN license (active and in good standing).

  • Certified in BLS (must be able to be recertified).

  • Minimum of 1.5 years of recent (within the past 2 years) acute care experience in a facility of comparable size and level.

  • Experience in Level 1 or Level 2 trauma hospitals preferred.

  • Experience using EPIC EMR strongly preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.

  • Must not have had any professional license suspensions, investigations, or liability claims.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and pass pre-employment health, drug, and background screenings.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience required.

  • Acute care experience in Level 1 trauma hospital (highly desired).

  • EPIC EMR experience (highly desired).

  • Ability to read telemetry (required).

  • Ability to start IVs and perform blood draws (required).

Work Schedule:

  • Day shift assignment

  • Every other weekend and some holidays required
