Job Title: Cath Lab Technician
Location: Manahawkin, NJ (08050)
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Schedule: 4x10s (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM) | 40 hrs/week
No weekends or holidays (except on-call)
On-call required: 1 weekday shift per week (5:30 PM – 7:00 AM) and 1 weekend every 8 weeks (24 hours)
No floating
The Cath Lab Technician is responsible for supporting safe, high-quality cardiac services and ensuring optimal patient outcomes. This role involves technical expertise, patient care support, equipment operation, and adherence to safety standards throughout interventional cardiology and radiology procedures.
Perform and support cardiac catheterization procedures, including LHC, RHC, PTCA, stent placement, PTCRA, PTMR, and TEC.
Assist in preparing patients for procedures, ensuring comfort, safety, and education pre- and post-procedure.
Set up, prepare, and maintain procedure rooms and supplies; ensure turnover times are within 15 minutes.
Maintain aseptic surgical technique and universal precautions during invasive procedures.
Scrub with cardiologists and adapt to individual physician preferences.
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot technical equipment (including x-ray and hemodynamic systems).
Accurately obtain, calculate, and analyze hemodynamic data.
Maintain procedural logs, downtime logs, supply inventory, and expiration checks.
Handle and track cine films and documentation accurately.
Verify patient identification, consents, and risk criteria prior to procedures.
Follow department policies for quality control, troubleshooting, and archival systems.
Active RT license
BLS (AHA)
ACLS (AHA)
IABP Certification
Monitor Technician Certification / Annual Telemetry Review
Telemetry Certification – Highly Preferred
Interventional Radiology (IR) experience – Highly Preferred
PCI Experience – Required
1–2 years of Cath Lab Tech experience required
