Job Title: Patient Access Representative
Location: Houston, TX
Duration: 13 Weeks (Contract)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours: 40 per week

Position Overview

We are seeking a Patient Access Representative to join our healthcare support team. This role is responsible for assisting patients and providers by handling front desk operations, scheduling, eligibility verification, and financial processing in a professional and customer-focused manner.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments and ensure compliance with medical necessity requirements.
• Verify insurance eligibility and coverage prior to patient visits.
• Collect, post, and reconcile patient payments accurately.
• Greet and register patients courteously, ensuring accuracy of demographic and insurance information.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Utilize electronic medical record systems (e.g., EPIC) for scheduling, data entry, and verification.
• Assist with front desk operations and coordinate with clinical staff to support patient flow.
• Handle patient inquiries in person, by phone, or via secure communication channels.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED required (some college coursework preferred).

Experience: Previous experience in patient access, front desk operations, customer service, or health insurance verification preferred.

Skills:

• Bilingual communication (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Proficiency in EPIC Systems strongly desired.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
