Title : Certified Medical Assistant

Location: Brooklyn, NY 11201

Duration: 13 Weeks (Contract)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours per week)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our healthcare team. The CMA will provide essential clinical, technical, and administrative support to ensure efficient patient care and smooth daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform EKGs, lab testing, pulmonary function tests (PFTs), and audiometry as ordered.

  • Admit patients to exam rooms and record vital signs, medical history, medication history, allergy history, height, and weight.

  • Perform quality controls and maintain compliance with CLIA regulations.

  • Manage referrals, documentation, lab logs, and daily equipment checks (oxygen, emergency kits, etc.).

  • Follow universal precautions and OSHA standards to maintain patient and staff safety.

  • Maintain exam rooms, waiting areas, and front desk in a clean and organized condition.

  • Handle patient registration, insurance updates, scheduling, and medical record filing.

  • Process referrals, assist with discharge instructions, and update billing documentation.

  • Notify patients of test results as directed by providers.

  • Answer calls professionally, manage messages, and ensure timely follow-up.

  • Support daily financial accountability including ledger sheets and cash box tracking.

Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant certification required OR minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.

  • BLS certification required.

  • Strong communication skills, phone etiquette, and computer/data entry proficiency.

  • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

  • Flexible and adaptable to changing needs and priorities.
