Job Title: RN – Inpatient Pediatrics
Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks (with possible extension)
Shift: Day Shift | 12 hours per day | 3 days per week | 36 hours per week
Schedule: Every other weekend and some holidays required

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses for our inpatient pediatric surgical unit. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center, strong clinical assessment skills, and the ability to provide excellent patient care in a high-acuity setting.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, compassionate, and high-quality nursing care in a pediatric surgical unit.

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, document care accurately, and administer treatments according to physician orders and protocols.

  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care plans.

  • Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and procedures.

  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills to support patient care and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Current New York State RN license (active and in good standing).

  • BLS certification (must be current or able to be recertified).

  • Minimum 1.5–2 years of recent acute care RN experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center.

  • EPIC EMR experience highly preferred.

  • Strong nursing assessment skills with the ability to function independently with minimal orientation.

  • Must not have had professional license/certification suspended or investigated.

  • Must not have been named in a professional liability claim.

  • Must pass pre-employment health clearance, drug screening, and background check.

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Skills & Experience

  • Required:

    • 2 years of nursing experience in acute care

    • NYS RN license

  • Highly Desired:

    • Level 1 trauma hospital experience

    • EPIC EMR experience
