Job Title: Surgical Tech – Operating Room Tech
Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Duration: 3+ month contract (extendable)
Shift: Day/Night rotations
Pay Rate: $58/hr (Travel) | $48/hr (Local)

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join a busy Downtown Pediatric Operating Room team. This role involves working in a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center setting, assisting in various surgical procedures, and ensuring optimal patient care and surgical support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scrub for a wide variety of surgical procedures, including orthopedic, general, ENT, vascular, and gynecologic cases.

  • Prepare the operating room with necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies for scheduled and emergency procedures.

  • Maintain sterile techniques and ensure all surgical instruments are properly handled and accounted for.

  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless surgical operations.

  • Adhere to hospital protocols, safety procedures, and infection control guidelines.

  • Assist in turnover and preparation of operating rooms for subsequent cases.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of recent surgical technologist experience within the last 4 years in an acute care operating room setting, preferably in a Level 1 trauma center or teaching hospital.

  • Scrub experience in general surgery and specialty areas including orthopedics, neurosurgery, trauma, vascular, ENT, bariatric, genitourinary (GU), and gynecology (GYN).

  • Experience in pediatric OR preferred.

  • No First Assist duties (per NY State regulations).

  • First-time travelers considered only if experienced in hospitals of equal size and scope.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • No history of professional license or certification suspension or investigation.

  • Successful completion of pre-employment health clearance.
