Position Title: Paediatric Surgical/Operating Room Technician

Pay Rate: $1,800 – $1,889.60 weekly
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Surgical/Operating Room Technician to join a high-acuity paediatric operating room team at a Level 1 Trauma Centre. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to critical surgical procedures in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform surgical scrub duties in a paediatric OR, assisting with general, orthopaedic, ENT, vascular, GYN, and other specialty cases.
Maintain a sterile field and handle instruments, supplies, and equipment according to protocols.
Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anaesthesiologists, and other OR staff to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
Anticipate surgical team needs and support procedures from setup to post-op.
Demonstrate advanced knowledge of surgical techniques with minimal supervision.
Prepare and turnover operating rooms, including instrument counts, documentation, and equipment readiness.
Adhere to infection control, hospital policies, and patient safety standards.
Communicate effectively in high-pressure situations.
Maintain confidentiality, comply with state regulations, and participate in ongoing training to sustain surgical competencies.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of recent surgical tech experience (within the last 4 years) in an acute care Level 1 or Level 2 trauma centre.
Experience in paediatric or adult OR settings with varied case types.
Strong scrub experience required; OB scrub experience preferred.
CST certification preferred.
