Job Title: Senior Web Content Writer
Location: Hybrid – Austin, TX
Duration: 8+ Months Contract

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Web Content Writer to craft clear, accurate, and engaging content for public-facing websites. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to translate complex information into content that resonates with diverse audiences while maintaining brand consistency and optimizing for performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on relevant topics and benchmark strategies from other states or agencies.

  • Define and execute content strategies that present complex information in a clear, usable manner.

  • Write, edit, and fact-check web content prior to publication.

  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers, developers, business analysts, and subject matter experts to ensure alignment with audience needs.

  • Apply branding standards to maintain consistency in tone and style.

  • Edit content for grammar, clarity, tone, and engagement.

  • Review and enhance website performance, design, SEO, and user experience.

  • Provide ongoing updates, dynamic content refreshes, and recommendations.

  • Manage multiple content projects and meet tight deadlines.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in web content writing or digital marketing.

  • Strong knowledge of SEO, content strategy, web editing, and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).

  • 5+ years in content planning and performance tracking.

  • Proven writing, editing, and storytelling expertise with a strong portfolio.

  • 4+ years in copywriting and proofreading.

  • 2+ years with basic graphic editing skills (Photoshop/Illustrator).

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in early childhood care and education content.

  • Strong collaboration skills for working across agencies and organizations.
