Job Title: Inpatient Nutrition Support Specialist
Location: Syracuse, NY 13215
Duration: 3-month contract (extendable)
Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $70/hour

Overview:

This position is for an Inpatient Nutrition Support Specialist who will deliver advanced nutrition care to patients in a hospital setting, including those in critical care. The role requires strong clinical judgment, expertise in nutrition support, and a collaborative approach to patient care.

Qualifications:

At least 2 years of inpatient and/or critical care experience.
CNSC certification required.

Responsibilities:

Provide individualized nutrition therapy to patients from infancy through geriatrics.
Use standardized tools to identify malnutrition and implement appropriate interventions.
Manage enteral and parenteral nutrition support, including formula selection and modifications.
Adjust dietary orders, supplements, and nutrition-related medications per protocol.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Participate in department QAPI programs to improve processes and outcomes.
Document all patient care activities in the medical record.
