Duration: 11 Months

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and versatile Senior Drupal UI/UX Designer to lead the creation of accessible, intuitive, and visually engaging web experiences. This hybrid role blends user-centered design expertise with advanced Drupal development skills to deliver responsive, high-performing digital solutions.

The ideal candidate will be a creative problem-solver with a strong grasp of WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards, proficiency in Figma and design systems, and hands-on experience in Drupal theming, site building, and administration. You will collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and project managers to bring innovative ideas to life—ensuring both user satisfaction and business goals are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders to define project requirements, user needs, and business objectives.

  • Lead UI/UX design initiatives using Figma (variables, component properties, auto layout, and organized file structures).

  • Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes for feedback and iteration.

  • Execute Drupal content migration, including taxonomy configuration and metadata management.

  • Configure Drupal site elements: content types, views, menus, blocks, roles, and permissions.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure seamless design-to-development handoff and parity between design tokens and front-end code.

  • Conduct usability testing, user research, and feedback sessions to validate design decisions.

  • Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards and support for assistive technologies.

  • Optimize web performance and ensure cross-browser/device compatibility.

  • Provide training, mentorship, and documentation for Drupal site building, theming, and content management.

  • Stay updated on UI/UX trends, Drupal advancements, accessibility guidelines, and emerging web technologies.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in UI/UX design, including 3+ years working on large-scale design systems.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Drupal 9 or higher.

  • Deep expertise in WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.

  • Strong knowledge of content migration strategies and taxonomy design.

  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks (Bootstrap, Foundation) and JavaScript libraries (React, jQuery).

  • Experience with RESTful APIs and web services integration.

  • Proficiency with Figma, Adobe XD, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with both technical and non-technical teams.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Computer Science, HCI, Graphic Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Attributes

  • Proven track record of mentoring or training teams in Drupal theming and platform management.

  • Ability to clearly document and communicate design processes and technical decisions.

  • Passion for delivering high-quality, accessible, and user-friendly digital products.
