Position Title: Rehabilitation Attendant
Location: New York, NY
Job Type: Contract | Local or Travel
Shift: Days (2×8-hour shifts)
Pay Rate: $18 to $22/hour

Job Summary:

The Rehabilitation Attendant supports Physical and Occupational Therapists by assisting patients during treatment sessions. This includes helping with mobility, exercises, and daily living activities. The role also ensures therapy equipment is clean and ready for use. Ideal candidates will have experience in healthcare or rehabilitation settings and demonstrate strong teamwork and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist therapists with patient treatments such as bed mobility, therapeutic exercises, ADLs, and ambulation

  • Sanitize and clean therapy equipment regularly; perform routine safety checks

  • Safely transport patients to and from therapy sessions

  • Assist with patient transfers using proper body mechanics

  • Monitor inventory and report supply needs to the Program Manager

  • Help with ordering supplies and local shopping tasks

  • Manage daily statistics and deliver reports to the appropriate department

  • Perform clerical duties: maintain handouts, answer phones, make copies

  • Prepare and maintain clinical treatment areas, including linen restocking and equipment setup

  • Keep supply closets organized and well-stocked

  • Manage time effectively and contribute to team projects and problem-solving

  • Participate in in-service education sessions and complete unit-specific competency assessments

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Experience working in a healthcare setting required

  • Rehab or physical therapy experience preferred

  • CNA, PT Aide, or nursing aide experience is a plus

  • Basic computer skills (MS Office Suite)

  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

  • COVID-19 vaccination card required

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to follow directions and work under supervision

  • Physically capable of assisting with patient mobility and transfers

  • Must pass pre-employment health clearance
