Job Title: Telecommunications Analyst / Sr. Avaya Programmer
Location: Phoenix, AZ 85003 — 100% Onsite
Duration: 6+ Months Contract
We are seeking an experienced Telecommunications Analyst / Sr. Avaya Programmer to manage and support complex telecom systems in a mission-critical environment. This role serves as the primary liaison between the internal IT division and external telecom vendors (e.g., Avaya, Cisco) for escalated support and technical initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of Avaya programming, telecom infrastructure, and emergency response readiness.
Serve as the primary technical contact for vendor escalations and telecom-related issues.
Manage and support Avaya telecom systems, including programming, diagnostics, and maintenance.
Conduct technical studies to evaluate system performance and propose improvements.
Collaborate with internal departments to support network infrastructure needs.
Prepare technical documentation, reports, and correspondence.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex telecom equipment and systems.
Support after-hours and emergency calls, including critical incident response.
Install, test, and evaluate new or upgraded telecommunications systems.
Maintain detailed records of system inventory, maintenance logs, and project documentation.
Represent the telecom division in internal and external meetings as needed.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in a Telecommunications Analyst or Voice Communication Analyst role.
Proven expertise with Avaya system programming.
Experience working with law enforcement or government agencies (highly preferred).
Cisco certification or training is a plus but not required.
Required Skills:
Certification in Avaya System Programming (System Manager / Session Manager).
Strong understanding of telecom systems architecture and standards.
Project management experience in telecom and video systems deployment.
Ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues independently.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Willingness to work after hours in emergency situations.
