Job Summary

We are seeking a Telecommunications Analyst who will serve as the primary liaison between internal teams and external network vendors (e.g., Avaya) to resolve high-level technical issues. The role includes managing and maintaining telecommunications systems, troubleshooting, and supporting strategic telecom initiatives including upgrades and emergency operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead point of contact between internal stakeholders and network vendors for escalated technical support.

  • Perform management studies and contribute to special projects aimed at improving telecom systems and infrastructure.

  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure robust and compliant voice communications systems.

  • Prepare documentation, reports, and technical correspondence for stakeholders.

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues related to telecom systems.

  • Respond to service tickets and emergency calls, including after-hours situations as needed.

  • Analyze, install, configure, and test new or upgraded telecommunications solutions.

  • Maintain detailed records including equipment maintenance logs, inventory, and system documentation.

  • Compile technical manuals and prepare statistical usage and performance reports.

  • Represent the telecom function in internal and external technical meetings.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in telecommunications or voice communications roles.

  • Hands-on experience in Avaya system programming including System Manager/Session Manager.

  • Strong understanding of telecommunications protocols, infrastructure, and equipment.

  • Experience with documenting telecom architecture, support logs, and upgrade plans.

  • Willingness to support off-hour emergencies or escalations.

Preferred Skills

  • Avaya Programming Certification.

  • Experience with Cisco voice systems (certification preferred but not required).

  • Prior experience in public sector, law enforcement, or government agency telecom environments.

Additional Requirements

  • Must successfully pass a background check and fingerprint clearance.

  • May require occasional fieldwork and on-site technical support.
