Job Title: Registered Nurse – Wound Care
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks (Contract, Extendable)
Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM EST

Compensation:

  • Travel Rate: $3,680/week (includes stipend)

  • Local Rate: $3,200/week

Required Credentials:

  • Active RN license in New York

  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

  • Wound Care Certification


Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct health assessments and physical evaluations specific to wound, ostomy, and continence care

  • Create and revise personalized care plans based on patient conditions

  • Recommend treatments, medications, and interventions as appropriate

  • Monitor and document patient progress for complex wounds and continence concerns

  • Evaluate effectiveness and quality of care provided by clinical staff

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and refer to specialists as needed

  • Educate patients and families on wound prevention and self-care strategies

  • Deliver staff education programs, including onboarding and continuing education

  • Perform pressure injury risk assessments and initiate preventive care protocols

  • Communicate concerns or ethical challenges to appropriate leadership

  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to implement best practices based on evidence

  • Participate in unit- and hospital-level quality improvement initiatives

  • Provide culturally sensitive care in line with patient backgrounds and preferences

  • Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality policies

  • Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education and professional standards

  • Guide patients to community resources as part of care continuity

  • Oversee the use and coordination of rented wound care equipment

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid New York RN License

  • AHA-approved BLS Certification

  • At least 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience

  • Prior experience in Wound and Colostomy care
