Job Title: Wireless Networking Engineer 
Location: Remote 
Contract Duration: 6 Months (with potential for extension) 

Position Overview: 

We are seeking a highly skilled Wireless Networking Engineer for a 6-month remote contract to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-grade wireless network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in wireless technologies and protocols, proven experience in wireless architecture, and the ability to troubleshoot and secure wireless networks effectively. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Gather and assess customer requirements for wireless networks; architect tailored solutions to meet technical and business needs. 
  • Design, deploy, and maintain wireless LANs (WLANs) and other wireless network systems. 
  • Provide day-to-day operational support and troubleshooting for wireless infrastructure. 
  • Evaluate and mitigate wireless threats and performance issues; implement appropriate security and configuration standards. 
  • Develop documentation for network designs, configurations, policies, and procedures. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate wireless solutions with broader IT infrastructure. 
  • Monitor wireless performance and availability using appropriate tools and metrics. 

Required Skills and Qualifications: 

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in wireless network engineering. 
  • Strong knowledge of wireless networking protocols and standards (e.g., 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax). 
  • Experience with Wi-Fi, WiMAX, WAPs, and enterprise WLAN solutions. 
  • Familiarity with wireless controllers, access point configurations, and wireless site surveys. 
  • Understanding of wireless security standards and best practices. 
  • Experience with network diagnostic tools and wireless monitoring platforms. 
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting and communicate effectively with distributed teams. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Certifications such as CWNA, CWNP, CCNP Wireless, or equivalent. 
  • Experience with enterprise wireless vendors such as Cisco, Aruba, Meraki, or Ubiquiti. 
  • Familiarity with wireless QoS, VLANs, and integration with authentication systems (e.g., RADIUS, 802.1X). 
  • Previous experience supporting large-scale wireless deployments.
