Job Title: Sterile Supply Technician
Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks Contract
Shift: Evening Shift | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM | Includes weekend and holiday rotation
Pay Range: $20 – $30/hour
A reputable healthcare facility in Syracuse, NY is seeking a dedicated Sterile Supply Technician for a 13-week contract assignment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the cleanliness, sterility, and availability of surgical and clinical instruments. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in sterile processing who are passionate about patient safety and supporting critical healthcare operations.
Perform decontamination, disinfection, washing, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and trays.
Utilize aseptic techniques to ensure proper handling and processing of medical equipment.
Operate sterilization equipment such as steam sterilizers, Steris, and Sterrad systems.
Conduct routine quality assurance checks on sterilization and decontamination processes.
Assemble simple and complex surgical instrument sets according to detailed specifications.
Respond promptly to urgent and emergent requests for sterile instruments and supplies.
Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and infection control standards.
Completion of a nationally accredited Central Service Technician exam OR a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Central Service Technician in a healthcare setting (required).
Certification as a Central Service Technician (preferred).
Must pass a pre-employment health screening.
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in sterile processing (required).
Strong understanding of aseptic and sterilization techniques.
Effective communication and time management skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
