Job Title: Sterile Supply Technician
Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks Contract
Shift: Evening Shift | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM | Includes weekend and holiday rotation
Pay Range: $20 – $30/hour

Job Summary:

A reputable healthcare facility in Syracuse, NY is seeking a dedicated Sterile Supply Technician for a 13-week contract assignment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the cleanliness, sterility, and availability of surgical and clinical instruments. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in sterile processing who are passionate about patient safety and supporting critical healthcare operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform decontamination, disinfection, washing, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and trays.

  • Utilize aseptic techniques to ensure proper handling and processing of medical equipment.

  • Operate sterilization equipment such as steam sterilizers, Steris, and Sterrad systems.

  • Conduct routine quality assurance checks on sterilization and decontamination processes.

  • Assemble simple and complex surgical instrument sets according to detailed specifications.

  • Respond promptly to urgent and emergent requests for sterile instruments and supplies.

  • Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and infection control standards.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a nationally accredited Central Service Technician exam OR a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Central Service Technician in a healthcare setting (required).

  • Certification as a Central Service Technician (preferred).

  • Must pass a pre-employment health screening.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in sterile processing (required).

  • Strong understanding of aseptic and sterilization techniques.

  • Effective communication and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
