Position Summary:

Seeking a compassionate and experienced Pediatric RN to provide care in a juvenile secure center serving male youth offenders. The nurse will deliver structured interventions, administer medications, monitor health conditions, and support treatment goals in accordance with state standards and facility policies. The facility maintains a safe environment with supervision staff present during all nursing duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer medications, including controlled substances, following facility protocols

• Assess and monitor the general health status of youth residents

• Develop and review individualized nursing care and intervention plans

• Ensure nursing interventions align with broader treatment plans

• Maintain accurate clinical and administrative documentation

• Uphold infection control procedures and safety regulations

• Participate in team-based treatment planning and staff trainings

• Manage and maintain medical inventory and supplies

• Perform duties in accordance with juvenile justice guidelines

Facility Overview:

• Secure juvenile facility located in Orange County, NY (approx. 50 miles northwest of NYC)

• Male population, ages up to 21 years

• Facility accredited by the American Correctional Association

• On-site free parking

• Dress Code: Business casual or scrubs

• No vaccine requirement currently in place

Minimum Qualifications:

• Active NY State RN License and Registration (required)

• Pediatric or correctional healthcare experience preferred

• Excellent clinical judgment, documentation, and communication skills

Background Check Requirements:

All candidates must complete a comprehensive background check at no cost, including:

1. Criminal Background Check (CBC) – State & Federal

2. Statewide Central Register (SCR) – Child Abuse & Maltreatment

3. Staff Exclusion List (SEL) – Justice Center Screening

Fingerprinting and all background clearance costs will be covered by the facility.
Candidates will not receive reimbursement for background-related expenses.
