Location: Various Hospital Locations – New Jersey
Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts
Position Type: Contract (Full-Time, 40 hrs/week)
Job Overview:
A healthcare facility is seeking a dedicated Sonographer with RDMS credentials to perform diagnostic ultrasounds, assist with invasive procedures, and ensure image quality for optimal diagnosis. This is a weekday-only contract role that may involve float coverage and occasional overtime.
Key Functions:
Perform general and specialized ultrasound exams per physician request.
Use portable scanning equipment when required.
Assist physicians during complex sonographic procedures.
Prepare and educate patients before procedures, ensuring comfort and compliance.
Archive images, review results, and update EMRs as appropriate.
Maintain ultrasound equipment and manage room readiness.
Comply with hygiene, infection control, and safety procedures.
Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other imaging staff.
Cover shifts, float when needed, and participate in departmental training.
Requirements:
Graduate of a recognized ultrasound technology program.
Active RDMS certification and CPR credential required.
Familiar with PACS, EMR, and common ultrasound platforms.
Must be capable of lifting patients and standing for long periods.
1+ years of relevant experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply with solid clinical rotations.
