Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Workstation Specialist to support IT operations in a fast-paced government environment. The specialist will provide Tier 2 support for workstations, laptops, Macs, and peripherals, ensuring compliance, functionality, and responsiveness across District 7 facilities. This role requires occasional travel to local Driver and Photo License Centers, so a valid driver’s license and local residency are required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and resolve incidents using Remedy or similar ticketing systems.

  • Ensure device compliance through SCCM, including OS and application troubleshooting.

  • Install, configure, and support PC hardware, software, and peripherals (printers, scanners, docking stations, etc.).

  • Troubleshoot and support LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, Active Directory, and RDP environments.

  • Perform premise cabling (Cat5e/Cat6 installation and terminations).

  • Maintain detailed documentation of technical procedures and resolutions.

  • Collaborate with teams including SCCM, Security, and Service Desk for escalated issues.

  • Lead equipment deployments, testing initiatives, and contingency planning.

  • Provide on-site technical support to District 7 Driver License Centers.

Required Qualifications:

  • Local to Harrisburg, PA (must specify in application).

  • Valid Driver’s License (travel required within District 7).

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in:

    • End-user support for PCs, laptops, and docking stations in enterprise LAN/WAN settings.

    • Installation and troubleshooting of multifunction printers.

    • Incident management via Remedy or comparable ticketing platforms.

    • Premise cabling (Cat5e/Cat6 termination).

  • Proficiency in:

    • Windows OS environments, TCP/IP networking, RDP, and hardware diagnostics.

    • Clear written and verbal communication.

    • Following SOPs and multitasking in high-volume support environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Cisco VPN routers, Active Directory, Hyena, and SCCM.

  • Experience creating technical documentation.

  • Background in leading deployments and supporting IT project initiatives.
