Job Title: UI/UX Designer and Developer
Location: Everett, MA (Hybrid – On-site 1 day per week)
Duration: 12 Months

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop engaging, accessible user interfaces using Drupal 9+.

  • Create and customize Drupal themes, templates, content types, views, blocks, menus, roles, and permissions.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into wireframes, mockups, and functional prototypes.

  • Execute content migration strategies, taxonomy configuration, and metadata management.

  • Write responsive, standards-compliant HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

  • Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards and support assistive technologies.

  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and content reviews to improve site performance and engagement.

  • Train internal team members in Drupal theming, site building, and content management best practices.

  • Document development processes, UI/UX decisions, and training materials for internal knowledge sharing.

  • Stay current with evolving web and design technologies, accessibility standards, and Drupal updates.

Qualifications:

  • 4–6 years of experience in UI/UX design and front-end development.

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Drupal 9 or higher, including theming and administration.

  • Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards, including testing and remediation practices.

  • Experience with Drupal content migration and configuration management.

  • Proficiency in front-end frameworks like Bootstrap or Foundation and JavaScript libraries such as React or jQuery.

  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services integration.

  • Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Illustrator, or Photoshop.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain design and development concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • A passion for mentoring and building team capacity in Drupal best practices.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, HCI, Computer Science, Graphic Design, or equivalent experience.
