Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to assist in a busy and advanced Operating Room environment within a short-term acute care teaching hospital. Candidates must have demonstrated experience in multiple specialty areas and be adaptable to variable shift start times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures including sterilizing instruments and arranging equipment

• Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment

• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to promote smooth workflow

• Perform pre-op and post-op counts of instruments, sponges, and supplies

• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and patient safety standards

• Maintain accurate documentation in the surgical record

Required Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of surgical tech experience required

• Required experience with the following surgical specialties:

  • Orthopedics (including total joints/hip replacements)

  • Neurosurgery

  • Robotics

  • Thoracic

  • Vascular

Certifications:

• CST certification required

  • Exemption: Candidates who worked as a surgical tech in New York prior to 2015 may qualify without current certification

• BLS certification preferred
