Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer / Echo Tech
Duration: 13 weeks contract (Extendable)
Work Location: Cooperstown, NY
Shift Timing: 5x8 Days — 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Pay:

  • Travel rate: $2,920 weekly (includes stipend)
  • Local rate: $2,600 weekly

Requirements:

  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree from an accredited Cardiac Diagnostic Sonography program (2-year program)
  • Registry eligible for Adult Echocardiography through ARDMS
  • RCS certification eligible through CCI
  • CPR certification required
  • Must be able to respond to on-call within 1 hour

On-Call Requirements:

  • Every 5th weekend (Friday to Monday)
  • One night per week
  • Occasional holiday coverage

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proficient in Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE): inpatient portable and outpatient exams
  • Experience with Structural Heart imaging protocols
  • Skilled in the use of ultrasound contrast and agitated saline
  • Competent in Adult Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE), including high-level disinfection (HLD) of TEE probes
  • Experience with Adult Stress Echocardiography (STE)

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Pediatric Echocardiography experience
  • Familiarity with EPIC Electronic Medical Records

Equipment Used:

  • Philips EPIQ Ultrasound System

Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-quality echocardiographic studies in various clinical settings (inpatient, outpatient, portable)
  • Prepare, position, and explain procedures to patients
  • Operate ultrasound equipment and ensure accurate image acquisition
  • Handle TEE probe cleaning and disinfection following HLD protocols
  • Accurately document findings and maintain records using EMR systems
  • Collaborate with cardiologists and care teams to support diagnostic accuracy
  • Participate in call rotations and provide prompt responses to emergent studies
