Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (ED)

Location: Edison, NJ

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Duration: 13-Week Assignment

Schedule: Every other weekend required; holidays as needed

Compensation: $56 (Local), $65 (Travel) - Negotiable depending on the experience.

Job Summary:

We are seeking experienced and highly skilled Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurses to join a fast-paced, high-acuity team in Edison, NJ. As an ED RN, you will be on the front lines, providing critical care to patients in life-threatening situations across all age groups. This role demands rapid assessment, decisive action, and the ability to handle diverse medical and trauma emergencies efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and triage patients with acute physical and mental health conditions
• Provide timely interventions for stroke, sepsis, and STEMI patients
• Deliver high-quality nursing care in accordance with established protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float as needed within ED Adult, Pediatrics, and IMC units
• Accurately document patient care and maintain thorough medical records

Skills & Experience Required:

• Minimum 2+ years of recent Emergency Department RN experience
• Proven competency in managing Stroke, Sepsis, and STEMI patients
• Experience in a high-volume ED setting (up to 220 patients/day; up to 20 stroke cases/shift)
• Comfortable in fast-paced, high-acuity environments

Licensure & Certifications Required:

• Active NJ RN License (or Compact State License)
• BLS – AHA
• ACLS – AHA
• PALS – AHA
• Telemetry Certification
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
• Stroke CEU – Minimum 4 Contact Hours
