Job Title: Technical Operations Shift Engineer
Location: Elkton, VA
Duration: 1-Year Contract

Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a Technical Operations Shift Engineer to support manufacturing operations at a leading-edge pharmaceutical production facility located in the scenic Shenandoah Valley. This is an exciting opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals to apply their technical knowledge in a real-world, hands-on environment supporting the production of vaccines, biologics, and sterile products.

This shift-based role is ideal for individuals eager to learn, solve problems, and contribute meaningfully to a cross-functional technical operations team. Some work outside of traditional business hours, including nights and weekends, may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for vaccine, biologic, and sterile manufacturing processes, including data analysis, deviation resolution, and documentation.
  • Conduct technical investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
  • Support change control and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Author, review, and revise standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation.
  • Participate in technical and safety reviews related to processes and equipment.
  • Collaborate across departments to analyze and resolve atypical events and equipment issues.
  • Adapt to new systems, processes, and workflows in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Perform work in shift-based rotations, including nights and weekends as required.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the following or related fields:

  • Biology
  • Biochemistry
  • Biochemical Engineering
  • Biological Systems Engineering
  • Biomedical Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Integrated Science

0–3 years of relevant industrial, research, or academic experience.

  • Experience with technical investigations or quality systems documentation.
