Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Endoscopy Technician to join a reputable medical facility’s Endoscopy Department in Syracuse, NY. This role supports physicians during routine and advanced endoscopic procedures, ensuring high standards of patient care and procedural efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures, including advanced cases such as ERCP, EUS, and POEM.
Welcome and prepare patients, confirm identity, and ensure proper positioning for procedures.
Set up, operate, and maintain all endoscopy equipment and instruments, with a focus on Olympus scopes.
Collect, label, and transport specimens accurately to the laboratory.
Clean and reset procedure rooms between cases; ensure all equipment is fully functional.
Report equipment issues to Clinical Engineering and coordinate loaner replacements if needed.
Maintain strict infection control standards and comply with hospital safety and sterilization protocols.
Document patient data and procedures using ProVation MD or similar systems.
Collaborate with the care team to optimize workflow and provide high-quality patient support.
Remain current on all required certifications and internal protocols.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an endoscopy technician role.
At least 1 year of hands-on experience assisting in advanced procedures such as ERCP, EUS, or POEM.
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) – Required.
ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – Preferred.
Endoscopy Technician Certification – Preferred.
Familiarity with Olympus endoscopic equipment and ProVation MD software is a plus.
