Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer to support critical IT infrastructure initiatives across a range of high-impact projects. This role involves leading network modernization efforts, supporting hybrid cloud environments, and ensuring the performance and security of enterprise network systems. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams and external vendors to support operational needs and advance key strategic goals.
NGN Site Refresh: Collaborate on the upgrade of network and wireless infrastructure across administrative buildings.
Data Center Modernization: Support the transition to a hybrid cloud architecture and modernization of core data centers.
Application Support Services: Provide technical support for application delivery, including load balancing, performance testing, and issue resolution.
Serve as lead resource for network installation, configuration, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
Administer and support Cisco technologies including Nexus, ASR, ACI, Catalyst, and SDWAN.
Design and implement enterprise network architectures and protocols (e.g., BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, VXLAN, VPC, QoS, ACLs).
Configure and manage Cisco ASA & Firepower firewalls, VPNs (AnyConnect, IPSec, IKEv2, GRE), and site-to-site tunnels.
Provide packet-level traffic analysis using tools such as Wireshark, Netscout, and tcpdump.
Manage Azure/AWS cloud networks and integrate with on-prem environments.
Support security implementations and incident response, including Splunk SIEM/SPL.
Work with application and infrastructure teams on load balancing solutions (e.g., F5 LTM/GTM, Avi Networks, NSX Load Balancer).
Document network architecture, procedures, and configurations using Visio or Lucidchart.
Provide operational support: root cause analysis, resolution, and future risk mitigation.
Coordinate with vendors for issue resolution to meet internal SLAs.
8+ years of experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers/switches (e.g., Nexus 9k/7k/5k, ASR, Catalyst, ACI)
8+ years of experience with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
5+ years of experience with network security (Cisco ASA, Firepower)
5+ years with F5 load balancing (LTM, GTM, BIG-IQ)
Strong background in packet analysis and resolving complex networking issues
Experience with SDWAN, vManage, and Meraki
Hands-on experience with VMware NSX, NSX Advanced Load Balancer, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, ExpressRoute)
Experience using Splunk for monitoring and analysis
Prior experience in education or public sector environments is a plus
Certifications: CCNP or VMware-related certification required
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical audiences
Strong documentation and process-oriented mindset
