Job Title: Storage and Virtualization Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Storage and Virtualization Engineer to lead and support the infrastructure architecture and implementation of enterprise-level solutions. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, configuring, and maintaining virtualization, hyper-converged infrastructure, and storage platforms. You will also collaborate with stakeholders and IT leadership to ensure high-performing and scalable solutions are in place to support business operations.
Lead the development, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of new and existing storage and hyper-converged server systems, including VMware SDDC components.
Recommend hardware/server requirements and build stable, secure application environments.
Plan and document projects, ensuring timely delivery in collaboration with leadership and cross-functional teams.
Provide architectural leadership, aligning solutions with business strategies and automation goals.
Ensure compliance with established IT architecture standards and development lifecycle requirements.
Design and execute complex, multi-phase infrastructure migration projects.
Create and maintain detailed enterprise architecture diagrams including business, security, and technology views.
Provision and troubleshoot storage and virtual infrastructure, with a focus on performance and capacity management.
8+ years of experience with Hyper-Converged compute environments and multi-tiered storage architecture.
8+ years working with enterprise storage solutions including Dell EMC VPLEX, VxRail, VxRack, vSAN, ScaleIO, Pure Storage, and Rubrik.
8+ years of hands-on experience with VMware SDDC technologies.
8+ years of experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Azure ARM templates, and Azure CLI.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution.
Previous experience working on IT infrastructure projects within an education-focused or public-sector environment (preferred).
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proficiency in working with heterogeneous systems and complex infrastructure environments.
Exposure to Cisco ACI and other modern provisioning/hosting technologies.
