Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room
Location: Watertown, NY
Duration: 13 or 26 Weeks
Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
A dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) is needed for a night shift assignment at a reputable healthcare facility in Watertown, NY. This role is ideal for nurses with prior OR experience or those with a solid med-surg foundation who are willing to complete specialized perioperative training.
Responsibilities:
Deliver safe, high-quality care throughout the perioperative process
Assess and address patients’ physical, emotional, and educational needs
Maintain aseptic technique and operate specialized OR equipment
Respond to emergencies and interpret lethal dysrhythmias when required
Collaborate effectively with the surgical team
May serve as charge nurse as needed
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and lift precautions
Education: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
Experience:
Preferred: 1+ year medical/surgical experience
Required for new OR nurses: Completion and passing of a 6-month AORN Perioperative 101 program
Licensure:
Current New York RN license
BLS required (or obtained within 3 months of hire)
ACLS preferred
Skills:
Strong leadership, delegation, and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of typical OR equipment and sterile procedures
Proficiency in identifying and responding to lethal cardiac dysrhythmias
