Position Overview:
A respected long-term care and rehabilitation facility in Gettysburg, PA is seeking a qualified and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) for a short-term contract assignment. This leadership role involves overseeing all clinical operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining the highest standards of resident care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in long-term care, proven leadership abilities, and a commitment to excellence in patient outcomes and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily clinical operations and nursing services.
Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations.
Lead, manage, and support nursing staff, including scheduling, evaluations, and professional development.
Monitor care delivery to ensure safety, quality, and resident satisfaction.
Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and continuous quality improvement efforts.
Maintain and update nursing policies and procedures as needed.
Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and regulatory readiness.
Promote a positive, collaborative, and high-performance team culture.
Required Qualifications:
Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.
Previous experience as a Director of Nursing or senior nursing leader in a long-term care or rehab facility.
Thorough understanding of state and federal regulations governing skilled nursing facilities.
Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to make sound clinical and administrative decisions independently.
