Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry Stepdown Unit
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: 3 days/week (36 hours total), Every Other Weekend Required
Contract Length: 8+ Weeks
Float Requirement: May float to CVSU, Cardiopulmonary, Heart & Vascular Stepdown, Comp Med Stepdown, and Cardiology Telemetry Stepdown Units

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-acuity Telemetry Stepdown Unit. The RN will deliver safe, evidence-based care to patients with complex cardiac conditions, acting as a critical member of the interdisciplinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses interested in advancing toward ICU-level responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver age-appropriate, culturally competent care in a telemetry/stepdown setting

  • Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms and administer titratable cardiac medications

  • Assess and respond to changes in patient condition promptly and appropriately

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation

  • Float to related telemetry/stepdown units as needed

  • Participate in ongoing professional development and ensure adherence to best practices

Required Qualifications:

  • Active and unencumbered Ohio RN license or Compact RN license

  • Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing (BSN preferred)

  • BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association)

  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a telemetry/stepdown environment

  • Strong proficiency in cardiac drip management and ECG interpretation

Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

  • Experience caring for patients with:

    • Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD)

    • Post-cardiac and vascular surgical recovery

    • Post-cardiac catheterization monitoring
